First Step Preschool

First Step is in it's 19th year of nurturing children and families! We guide children by building and developing social skills, such as sharing, using our words to solve problems and share feelings, being able to transition between activities, taking turns, using our manners and much more!  We foster educational readiness by introducing activities and an enriching environment filled with letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and so much more!  All of these important qualities lead to little ones who are prepared and excited for their next learning adventure...kindergarten!

We are proud to have been the only preschool in Geauga County to have obtained the highest, Step Up to Quality Rating for 3 consecutive years ... which means that your little one is gaining the many benefits of attending a preschool with this high quality rating through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services! 

Some of those benefits include low teacher/child ratios, a facility which provides many creative and diverse materials for use by your child, a curriculum in place which follows the guidelines set forth by the Ohio Department of Education, assuring that your little one will be exposed to all the areas of development including: social/emotional growth, fine motor and large motor development, academic growth, communication and problem solving skill development, and much more.   (Please see our Step Up To Quality Link for additional information on SUTQ.)

There are 2 teachers and a parent helper in the classroom each day with a maximum or 16 children in the  Pre-K Class and 14 children in the 3 Year Old Class.
